Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh, India’s most populous state, is a key driver of economic and cultural influence, with a diverse landscape ranging from the Gangetic plains to the Vindhya foothills. As rapid urbanization and climate vulnerabilities intensify, integrating sustainable regional planning is crucial.

Our work in Uttar Pradesh focuses on embedding Eco City-Region principles into regional development frameworks. We support the formulation of Regional Planning Process (RfP) templates for the State Capital Region (SCR) and assist government departments in refining Storm Water Management Policy and Scheme guidelines through spatial analysis. We contribute to climate-resilient planning for small towns under the Aspiration Cities programme and integrate data-driven tools for asset management in the CM-Green Road Infrastructure Development Scheme. Additionally, we provide technical input for the Uttar Pradesh Greening Policy, ensuring an ecosystem-based approach to conserving natural habitats and biodiversity, fostering long-term resilience and sustainable growth.

Major Urban Local Bodies and Sub-Basins of Uttar Pradesh

This map highlights Major Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and Ganga River sub-basins in Uttar Pradesh (UP) to support hydrological planning and stormwater management. It helps identify ULB locations within sub-basins and their contributing areas, enabling more effective stormwater management at both basin and local scales.

Major Urban Local Bodies in the Upstream of Gomti Confluence Sub-Basin

This zoomed-in map highlights the sub-basin around the main Ganga River, focusing on Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) along its channel. It showcases four major ULBs and nearby Nagar Palika Parishads, emphasizing hydrological linkages and the need for integrated stormwater and water resource management across interconnected districts.

Varanasi - Flood Risk

This map assesses flood risk in Varanasi and its 20 km surroundings, highlighting potential flood extent and impacts on critical transport infrastructure—railways, the airport, and major roads. Understanding these vulnerabilities is vital for disaster preparedness, ensuring effective rescue and relief operations during urban floods.
