On 03rd March 2023 WRI India, in collaboration with the Punjab Municipal Infrastructure Development Company (PMIDC), hosted an inception workshop in Chandigarh. The event was chaired by Ms. Isha Kalia, CEO of PMIDC, and brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including representatives from municipal corporations, city administration, the water and sewerage board, and PMIDC officials. The workshop provided a platform to discuss the challenges and opportunities in urban management, emphasizing the transformative potential of data-led urban planning. Participants explored innovative approaches to enhance decision-making processes, improve service delivery, and strengthen the governance of urban systems. The discussions underscored the critical role of data in addressing complex urban challenges, such as infrastructure development, resource allocation, and environmental sustainability. This collaborative effort marks an important step towards fostering a more sustainable and well-managed urban future for cities across Punjab.
