The seventh edition of #ExpertTalks for the Jalandhar Eco City-Region Fellows featured an insightful session led by Mr. Achu R Sekhar, Program Manager at WRI India. This session focused on grassroots-level challenges and opportunities in municipal solid waste management, offering the Fellows a deeper understanding of effective strategies to address waste management at the local level.

Mr. Sekhar’s lecture covered a wide range of topics, including the solid waste management process, plastic waste management in India, and the importance of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) initiatives. The session also explored best practices in segregated storage and highlighted the significant role of IEC in improving waste segregation at the community level.

The expert session provided valuable insights and practical guidance to further strengthen the program’s approach to tackling solid waste management challenges, empowering the Fellows with the knowledge to make a meaningful impact in their respective regions.
